meditation @ Stanley beginning July 10

Want to learn to manage stress, be kinder to yourself and others, and master your mind?

Meditation can help. Meditation may be one of the easiest and cheapest paths to mastering yourself and thus your life. But it’s hard to start a routine of meditation and even harder to persist in a regular practice.

That’s why I’m starting a weekly meditation group dedicated to making meditation and mindfulness concrete and accessible. The goal is to teach you to create a sustaining habit of meditation and mindfulness that fits with your life.

Background or why now?

One of the fruits of this long slow summer has been that I’m meditating more and more regularly. I’m about to celebrate a 30 day streak and even this relatively small uptick in practice has reminded me how powerful meditation can be. With that in mind, about a week ago I asked for your feedback on developing a meditation group at Stanley.

What do people want?

  • Over 40 people expressed interest in regularly attending a meditation group (whoa!)

  • People were split between wanting a lunch time and evening group

  • WHAT skills are people most interested in learning or practicing? Respondents were most interested in

    • how to manage stress (65% of respondents),

    • learning to be kinder to themselves (52% of respondents),

    • and learning to train their mind (52% of respondents)

  • HOW are people most interested in learning or practicing?

    • Guided meditation (89% of respondents)

    • Non-meditation exercises led by Kerry (45% of respondents)

    • Silent meditation (43% of respondents)

Come meditate with me.

This weekly meditation group is dedicated to making meditation and mindfulness concrete and accessible. The goal is to teach you to create a sustaining habit of meditation and mindfulness that fits with your life.

Please join me.

I’m starting with a Wednesday meditation group at noon in Stanley. (Wait till you see the space we’ll be meeting in!) Evening options may be coming in the fall.

Thanks again for your readership. Wishing you all love and a bit of joy,

Kerry
